I Have a Dream: Martin Luther King
I googled on 'I have a Dream' and the results showed 1-10 of 41,000,000 pages. I was aware this phrase was popular but not to this extent.
'I have a dream' is the name of the historic speech that the great Martin Luther King delivered at the Lincoln Memorial during the American Civil Rights Movement. Delivered to over two hundred thousand civil rights supporters, the speech is often considered to be one of the greatest and most notable speeches in history and was ranked the top American speech of the 20th century by a 1999 poll of scholars of public address. According to U.S. Congressman John Lewis, who also spoke that day as the President of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee, "Dr. King had the power, the ability and the capacity to transform those steps on the Lincoln Memorial into a modern day pulpit. By speaking the way he did, he educated, he inspired, he informed not just the people there, but people throughout America and unborn generations."
Thanks to youtube that after 45 years after the speech was delivered, we have the privilege of listening to it again. Hail Youtube!

Ravi, What a righteous thought on a Martyr’s day -Jan 30th ! I have read Dr King’s speech many times and always felt that it’s an emotional speech. But when I heard it though You tube…I could feel the “passion” he had for freedom. I believe, dreams come true because of passion – “fire in the belly”. And I remember reading somewhere, when Dr King was assassinated the last words were towards a bar musician who was supposed to play in his night meeting. King asked the musician, to play it- pretty well for sure, what ever happens to him. What an “attitude”!!! Victor Franklin who was in Nazi jail for 10 years, after his release wrote a book “ Man in Search of Meaning”. He said that, one thing Nazis could not do to him was to take away his “attitude”. Amazing…
